Who is that knocking at the door? It's Mayor Robert Bemmes from the City of Reading (right), delivering a meal to Lucille Wilson, (daughter of Meals-On-Wheels client, Marie Cella) (left), and Meals-On-Wheels driver Malcolm Andrews (center).

From March 19 through March 23, Wesley Community Services celebrated "Mayors for Meals 2007." Eight Mayors and elected officials from the Greater Cincinnati area were among hundreds of Mayors across the country showing their support for the Meals-On-Wheels program in their city by delivering meals to seniors.
In 2006, Wesley Community Services delivered over 195,000 hot and frozen nutritious meals through our Meals-On-Wheels program for seniors who qualify for assistance through The Council on Aging of Southwestern Ohio.
In addition, Meals-On-Wheels are available to Hamilton County residents between 50 and 60 years of age, who DO NOT qualify for meals assistance through The Council on Aging of Southwestern Ohio, and who have a serious illness. Up to 7 nutritious meals per week including physician-prescribed therapeutic meals for individuals with kidney disease, high blood pressure or diabetes can be delivered to your home at no cost.
Wesley Community Services seeks to foster and support the independence, dignity and functioning of frail elderly individuals, including those who are low-income, who seek to remain in their home for as long as possible. In addition to Meals-On-Wheels, Wesley Community Services provides Home Cleaning Services, Medical Transportation Services, Pet Portions Program (free pet food for client pets), and Adopt-A-Grand Parent (students visit and share time with area seniors).
